Portofino and San Fruttuoso

Sailing towards the promontory that closes off the Gulf of Tigullio, the village of Portofino suddenly surprises with colorful square of old fishermen's houses and boats, with crystal clear waters which reflect cliffs and Mediterranean scrub.

After a tourist tradition of almost two centuries, which has seen intellectuals and poets from all over Europe stay here, Portofino today has become the symbol of a more luxurious tourism, but also a destination for excursionists to discover a unique environment, where the work of the nature merges closely with man's industriousness.

Beyond the lighthouse you can reach the bay of San Fruttuoso, where you can also visit a centuries-old abbey now restored by the FAI.
